 ‘Abigail Rai is a Bedford-based cartoonist, illustrator and a graduate of Camberwell College of Arts. Her practice spans comics and self-publishing, exploring the relationship between human feeling and the natural world through a tender, kinetic lens. For her graduate project, she created The Wandering World, a tarot deck inspired by her comic The Devourer, set in a fictional Himalayan village. Drawing on Buddhist and Hindu concepts, as well as narrative art traditions, her protagonists embody strangeness, transformation and resilience.’
